Slidematic Products is proud to introduce our Automation Division as our most recent extension of our manufacturing capability.

For over forty years Slidematic has designed, built, and serviced the automated machines utilized in the assembly of our line of furniture casters and glides. Our designs have evolved to take advantage of the increased productivity afforded by new technologies. Recently, we have begun to extend this capability to our stamping customers as well. We feel this integration of manufacturing capabilities puts Slidematic in a unique position to offer complete solutions to our customers' requirements for subassembly or secondary operation applications.

Slidematic's latest addition, the Universal Indexer has been developed as an automated cell that can efficiently assemble a wide variety of parts. The production volume of these parts can range from small to large. We can help customers assemble their products cheaper with faster cycle times and better quality. Slidematic has designed and internally utilizes its own Universal Indexer. This Universal Indexer is a versatile automated cell that allows us to assemble customers' products. The base machine, our modular tooling, and the controls allow for quick and efficient setups. We can run a multitude of assembly operations. The design of the base, its wings, and their mounting capabilities not only allow for quick change over, but can also handle a wide array of modular tooling. Our present assembly capabilities are (but are not limited to):

¨        Presses ranging from fractional tonnage up to twelve tons

¨        Tapping (forming and cutting) up to ¾” both vertical and horizontal

¨        Multi-spindle tapping

¨        Riveting both vertical and horizontal

¨        Screwdriver units

¨        Programmable Robot Arms

¨        Pick and place

¨        Part Placer

¨        Broaching

¨        Quality inspection

Along with these capabilities, the Universal Indexer utilizes a touchscreen controller. This controller not only allows for quick loading of programs from one assembly to the next, but also allows us to utilize price part prints, quality control data collection sheets, setup sheets, a troubleshooting database, and production information to ensure the total quality of your products.

At Slidematic Products we offer our customers a range of alternative solutions not normally available through traditional manufacturers. Our modular designs offer a migration path to increased mechanization as production requirements increase. This can be extremely valuable in cases where initial production volume projections are uncertain.
